Tools for eLearning

In addition to AutoCAD, K12 also offers instructor-led, web-based training modules in Microsoft Office. These tools are licensed by the Autodesk Authorized Training Center at no cost to the client. Instructor-led training is available on-site or at a K12 facility near the client.

Because the K12 community centers are usually located near the client location, they are open to all Autodesk customers and to the public, and the training staff is available to provide support for all products, including those outside of the K12 software offering. K12 support personnel are also available to perform tasks on Autodesk Authorized Training Center courseware.

git - commit a single file as a whole, no matter how it changed

I want to use git commit to commit a file (say, local.cfg) as a whole, ignoring changes in its content. I know git commit -a would do that, but it commits all changes, and I do not want that.

The question is: how to commit a file, ignoring its content?

A:

You can use git commit -am "commit message" --local.cfg. The -- means that git will not track changes to that file and it will not add it to the index. This will also ensure that you will not see it in the git status output.

A similar solution can be found here and here.

Another way is to use git commit --ignore-space-change, see gitignore docs.

Yet another solution is to use git commit -a --local.cfg, this will add the file and ignore its content.

I'm not sure about what you mean by "ignoring changes in its content" but as far as I know, you can do this in a couple of ways, including:

git commit -a --local

This commits just the file itself and ignores content changes

git commit -a --local -m "Message"

This will commit the contents of the file, including any changes, but ignore any untr
